This one-hour talk will introduce some research activities of the speakers,
covering:
Cavitation resonance
This is a phenomenon discovered in early 1980’s that causes huge pressure surges and affects the systems’ stability. A mechanism has been proposed for prediction of this phenomenon.
Cavitation inception triggered by boundary-layer turbulence productionIntroducing a new phenomenon discovered on the Three Gorge turbines. The analyses will be carried out from the interplay between the metallurgical and fluid dynamic factors.
And, briefly on-going research, such asMarkov model for bubble behaviour near boundaries;Synergistic model for silt-cavitation erosion.
